Overview

flexible, scalable and dependable integrator/prosumer power

Thinlooms pack a lot of power into a small box

Archonix Thinloom represents the most flexible, scalable and dependable controller system available today for the system integrator and prosumer market. Thinloom redefines the concept of rapid engineering, allowing system designers, integrators and producers to rapidly turn their concepts and designs into physical hardware.

Thinloom components are totally connected. Every unit comes as standard with Ethernet capability to allow units to communicate with each other, desktop computers and servers, mobile devices and even serve web pages. With a range of connectivity modules Thinloom units can connect over a variety of means including radio links to interface to Archonix wireless sensors and IO devices. Of course, Thinlooms supports full Power-Over-Ethernet (POE), so your cabling loom is reduced.

Full Control

Ready to be integrated into your software and hardware systems

Thinlooms feature a simple but powerful API:

Using a simple API every device, sensor, port, ADC, register etc are accessed using the same command set. Users can build custom web interfaces on the Thinloom itself for direct access to information on any of the hardware modules connected. The interface is further simplified using Archonix’s free API connectors for any JAVA web-browsers, iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, Windows, Linux and MacOSX. These software bridges allow your desktop applications to access Thinloom sensor values and outputs directly. Full source code is provided for power-users to integrate Thinloom into their existing or new systems.

Thinloom PRO

Custom Applications directly on Thinloom hardware

Additional Thinloom PRO hardware gives you even more power:

Thinloom PRO hardware expands the concept even further and allows Thinloom devices to undertake any complex functionality autonomously. The additional hardware allows the Thinlooms to run TLvms – the Thinloom Virtual Machine Architecture. This is a vm environment on the Thinloom that allows users to upload their own application to the Thinloom. Archonix TLvma is a free compiler that provides efficient programming using a simple 37 command instruction set.

Not only can the Thinloom Main Board run PRO hardware, but also PRO enabled add-on modules. All PRO hardware modules are individually programmable. This way the complete Thinloom unit can operate as a parallel processing machine with each module running its own specific application. This offers virtually limitless scalability through a single interface – and all booting in just a few milliseconds!

Hardware

Quality construction build for heavy-duty

Thinlooms are build to last:

Featuring a rugged aluminium case and professional ArchonX interconnect system, the thinloom packs a lot of power into its sturdy but diminutive form. Its anodised shell is resistent to damage and laser etched detail will never fade. Even the machine screws have been specifically designed and manufactured to provide maximum strength and reliability.

Extendability is a major factor in providing a scalable solution for your current and future needs. Thinloom units are designed to take virtually limitless number of expansion modules. These range from digital IO, ADC (with digital gain), DAC, High speed data capture (with SD card interface), Archonix Wireless sensor interface through to MOSFET stepper drivers and relay control modules.
